Eight passengers airlifted to hospital after buggy crash


The five adults, one toddler and two infants involved in the Hamilton Island golf buggy crash have all been airlifted to hospitals in Mackay, Townsville and Proserpine.

Initial information explains that the golf buggy crashed into a stationary golf buggy on the Great Northern Highway.

A man sustained leg injuries while a women sustained facial injuries and they have both been airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital.

A baby girl suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to Townsville Base Hospital with her mother, who suffered minor injuries.

The female driver and remaining passengers, two men, a boy and a baby girl have been transported to Proserpine Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating.
