The signage trail will see signs placed roughly every 50m between Mt Nutt Road and Yasso Point.

The signage could show historic stories and iconic events from Bowen’s history, or even feature local heroes and famous residents.

Mayor Andrew Willcox says the signage trail would be an exciting addition to the planned walkway upgrades along Queens Beach Esplanade.

“The Bowen Lions have been working with us to make this project a reality, and we are looking forward to hearing from the community with their suggestions for the signs.

“We have Works for Queensland funding to upgrade the walking and cycling network in this area, and believe the signage trail will be the icing on the cake.”

Consultation on the signage opened last Friday and will close 5pm, Friday 8 December 2017.
