Neighbourhood Centres across Queensland can share in $550,000 as the government opens the purse strings for one-off grants to run events, deliver projects, or to purchase equipment to help make their communities thrive.
Minister for Communities Coralee O’Rourke has announced the new Thriving Queensland Communities Grants program which open 21 May.
“Neighbourhood centres are a hub for local services and support – from playgroups and parenting programs, to housing and homelessness services, education and training programs and even visiting medical clinics.”
One-off grants of between $2,000 and $10,000 to support neighbourhood centres are available.
Applications for grants will open on 21 May and close on 5pm 22 June. The grants will be coordinated by the neighbourhood centres peak body, the Queensland Families and Communities Association.
